1. KAZAKHSTAN: Astana – Extension of the state of emergency
Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced on April 27th, 2020, the extension of the currently enforced regime of state of emergency until May 11th, 2020.
As a reminder, the state of emergency regime was previously extended until May 1st, 2020, as well as the quarantine of Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent.
As of April 27th, 2020, Kazakhstan had 2,717 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 25 fatalities.
2. MEXICO: Mexico City – Wearing a face mask is mandatory
The mayor of Mexico City announced the mandatory wearing of face masks in public spaces from April 27th, 2020.
As a reminder, the Mexican government authorities extended the currently enforced restriction measures until May 30th, 2020.
To date, Mexico has 14,677 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1,351 fatalities.
3. SPAIN: Madrid – Eeasing of restrictions
Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced on April 27th, 2020, the adoption of measures aimed at easing restrictions from May 2nd, 2020 onwards, if the number of cases of COVID-19 continues to decline.
People will be allowed to go outisde for walks and individual physical exercise.
People living together will also be allowed to take walks together.
As of April 27th, 2020, Spain has 226,629 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 23,190 fatalities.
4. NEPAL: Kathmandu – Containment extension
The Nepalese government announced on April 26th, 2020, an extension of the currently enforced regime of national containment until May 7th, 2020.
Schools, colleges and universities will also remain closed until April 30th, 2020, and gatherings of more than 25 people are prohibited.
In addition, the suspension of domestic and international flights will remain in effect until May 15th, 2020.
As of April 27th, 2020, Nepal has 52 recocases of COVID-19.
5. GUINEA BISSAU: Bissau – Extension of the state of emergency
President Umaro Sissoco Embalo announced on April 26th, 2020, an extension of the state of emergency regime until May 11th, 2020.
Restrictive measures are currently applied, including the closure of all land and sea borders and commercial aerial liaisons are being maintained.
Public transport is also suspended.
As of April 26th, 2020, Guinea Bissau has 53 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 1 fatality.
6. JORDAN: Amman – Extension of commercial flight ban
The Jordanian government announced on April 26th, 2020, the extension of the currently enforced ban on commercial flights until May 11th, 2020.
This extension will also apply to the closure of all land and sea borders.
As a reminder, the ban on commercial flights was due to end on April 27th, 2020.
As of April 26th, 2020, Jordan had 447 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 7 fatalities.
7. GABON: Libreville – Extension of the state of emergency
The Gabonese government announced the extension of the currently enforced regime of state of emergency for another 15 days, i.e. until May 11th, 2020.
The restrictive measures, which will also remain in force, include a regime of national curfew, effective from 7.30 p.m to 6 a.m (local time), as well as stricter lockdown of certain areas.
These include Libreville and the neighbouring communities of Owendo, Akanda, Ntoum and Pointe Denis.
As of April 26th, 176 cases of COVID-19, including 3 fatalities, have been confirmed in the country.
8. UNITED ARAB EMIRATES: Naif / Al-Ras – Easing of movement restrictions
Dubai authorities announced on April 26th, 2020, the easing of movement restrictions in the Naif and Al-Ras areas of the emirate, following the absence of detection of COVID-19-related infections in these areas in the last 48 hours.
Nevertheless, movement restrictions remain in force between 10 p.m and 6 a.m. (local time).
As of April 26th, 2020, at least 10,349 cases of COVID-19 were reported in the United Arab Emirates, including 76 associated fatalities.
9. NIGERIA: Abia State – Dusk to dawn curfew
The governor of Abia State declared the enforcement of from-dusk-to-dawn curfew regoome in all local communities in the state.
The curfew is effective between 6 p.m and 6 a.m, for an initial period of seven days.
The Governor also announced that the local governments of Umuahia North, Ikwuano and West Ukwa would be placed under total lockdown during the seven-day curfew.
As of April 26th, 2020, at least 1,182 cases of COVID-19 were reported in Nigeria, including 35 associated fatalities.
10. LITUANIA: Vilnius – Extension of border controls and restrictions
The government announced the extension of border controls and entry restrictions until May 14th, 2020, in order to curb the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.
Only transport of essential goods, including merchandise and food products, is allowed.
As of April 26th, 2020, at least 1,438 cases of COVID-19 were reported in Lithuania, including 41 associated fatalities and 467 recoveries.
