1. FRANCE: Paris – Quarantine measures for travelers arriving from Spain
The French authorities have announced that a compulsory 14-day quarantine will be in force from May 15th, 2020, for all travelers arriving from Spain.
The Spanish authorities have provided for the same measures for all passengers entering Spain from the same date.
Workers at border crossings are exempt from the measure.
To date, France has recorded 175,981 cases of COVID-19, resulting in 27,425 deaths, and Spain 229,540 cases, resulting in 27,321 deaths.
2. BOLIVIA: Santa Cruz – Containment extension
On May 14th, 2020, the Departmental Emergency Operational Committee (COED) of the Bolivian department of Santa Cruz announced the extension of the containment in force in several municipalities, including Santa Cruz de la Sierra, for an additional week.
This decision follows an increase in COVID-19 cases in these areas.
To date, Bolivia has 3,372 COVID-19 infections, of which 2,163 are in Santa Cruz. The number of deaths in the country stands at 152, including 76 in Santa Cruz.
3. SOUTH KOREA: Seoul – Mandatory Mask Wearing on Korean Air Flights
Officials of the airline Korean Air announced on May 15th, 2020, that all passengers on domestic flights will be required to wear a mask as of May 18th, 2020.
The mask will have to be worn throughout the flight but also during pre-flight operations.
To date, 11,018 cases of COVID-19, including 260 deaths, have been recorded in South Korea.
4. NIGERIA: Abuja – Wearing of mask mandatory
On May 14th, 2020, the Secretary of the Government of the Federation (SGF) declared the obligation to wear the mask and called on state governors to ensure compliance.
Security forces will be deployed to monitor this measure.
To date, the country has 5 162 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 167 related deaths.
5. COLOMBIA: Amazonas – Mandatory containment order
On May 14th, 2020, a mandatory containment was ordered by the Colombian Ministry of the Interior in the department of Amazonas and in the municipality of Leticia.
The free movement of people and vehicles within the territory will be restricted.
As a reminder, Colombian President Iván Duque announced on May 12th, 2020, a tightening of movement restrictions and mandatory quarantine measures in the department of Amazonas, where 924 cases of COVID-29 have already been registered.
6. UZBEKISTAN: Tashkent – Quarantine extension
The local authorities announced on May 15th, 2020, the extension of the quarantine measures until June 1st, 2020.
In addition, as of May 15th, 2020, certain restrictions will be lifted to allow the resumption of certain activities.
As a reminder, as of May 18th, 2020, domestic air and rail services will be partially resumed.
To date, the country has registered 2,652 cases of COVID-19, including 11 associated deaths.
7. CYPRUS: Nicosia – Extension of restrictions until June 1st, 2020
The authorities have extended the restrictions until June 1st, 2020.
The 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. (local time) curfew is still in effect, and the country’s borders remain closed until that date.
To date, the country has recorded 907 cases of COVID-19, including 17 related deaths.
8. SWEDEN: Stockholm – Extension of restrictions for non-EU arrivals
The Swedish authorities have again extended the entry ban for travelers from outside the European Union (EU) and other Schengen countries until June 15th, 2020..
To date, the country has at least 28,582 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including 3,529 deaths.
9. CANADA: Ontario – Easing of restrictions
An easing of restrictions is announced by the officials of the Province of Ontario until June 2nd, 2020.
As of May 19th, 2020, activities in the media, construction, retail sales, vehicle dealerships, laboratory research and medical procedures will resume with social distancing measures.
Gatherings of more than five people remain prohibited.
To date, there are at least 22,699 cases of COVID-19, including 1,896 related deaths.
10. UNITED KINGDOM: Road town – Curfew extended to May 24th, 2020
The local authorities extended the night curfew for another two weeks.
The curfew is in place from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. (local time) untill May 24th, 2020.
In addition, some non-essential businesses are allowed to reopen from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. (local time), respecting social distancing measures.
All maritime borders remain closed until at least June 1st, 2020.
To date, the territory has seven confirmed COVID-19 cases, including one related death.
